MISS KLEIO
STAGE 02
19 MAY - SUN
BIOGRAPHY

Miss Kleio’s afro-futurist vibe blends high energy tribal beats with hypnotic, chest-pounding techno.

Her eclectic style draws from her roots in Scarborough and her late teen years spent haunting Queen West in the '90s & 00s. The dark, aggressive sounds coming out of The Velvet Underground, Dark Rave and The Big Bop continue to heavily influence her selections.

Decades before she crossed the dancefloor to the decks, Miss Kleio aka Jess Forde, was exposed to the nightclub scene in 1999 while working security at The Guvernment. It was there she really fell in love with underground music; starting a decade long run working in Toronto's club district.

In 2020, Miss Kleio emerged as a resident DJ with the fire troupe, Bass Witch Coven; an art collective by womxn, for womxn that provides a platform for underrepresented talent and creates safer dancefloors for all bodies to move freely. She's since gone on to play for BeatportLINK, Charivari Detroit, Krampus Ball, Nomada Project, Manual Arts, Tarna The Art Car, Doomball, Octopals Garden and Danielle Rebelle Productions. Most recently, Miss Kleio joined the newly launched DJ collective, Lossless.
